I'm Writing a Book!

After 20 years of teaching art and designing art docent programs, I decided to sit down and create a big, beautiful art history and lesson book for kids 5-15! I'm so excited for this new project and to share my advice and ideas with educators and parents. Click on the "Book Info" link to find out more about this project!

Bicycle Art inspired by Joel Henriques

This lesson is based on the modern artist Joel Henriques. It is a playful colorful project and has as its main subject matter something that is near and dear to most kids hearts…a bicycle! With the warmer weather I thought this would be a fun lesson as kids are finally able to get out and ride their bikes (remember how that first bike ride of the season always felt?)

Georgia O’Keeffe Seashell Art

Georgia O’Keeffe is best known for her enlarged flower art! This week we are doing an enlarged seashell in the style of Georgia O’Keeffe!

Keith Haring Rocks!

This fun and bold rock art is the perfect springtime activity! These are so colorful and so fun to make, I bet you won’t be able to stop!

Who am I?

My name is Edna Lemm and I am an art specialist in Montana who has taught k-12 art classes, teacher workshops, and trained adults as art docents for 3 school-wide programs. I spend a lot of time playing around with lesson ideas and creating art (just can’t seem to get enough of it!). In this website you will find lessons that have brought out the fun and creativity in me and made a big splash with my students. My passion is art history and most of my school lessons are art history based, but I also teach summer classes and those classes cover a wide range of subjects and mediums. I love to share my lessons and get ideas from other great teachers and artists. Feel free to use any of these projects! If you post about it please reference this website (and send me photos if you do because I love seeing them!). Keep doing art. – Edna

The Doors of Italy

At the end of a 3 week vacation to Europe, I came away with so many pictures of things that captured my interest and the mood of the moment. I couldn’t get enough of all the time worn doors, especially those in Italy.

Making Reading Beautiful!

We painted Free Little Libraries! Does your city have a Little Free Library? These are little free standing libraries that have a “host” who looks after them and can be located in someone’s yard , out in the country, or in front of a business or in a park.  You can take a book to read or leave one for someone else to find.

My Beautiful Tuscan Kitchen

This year marks the two year anniversary of our kitchen remodel! My wonderful cabinet maker husband finally got around to making this custom kitchen for our home and I couldn’t be happier!
